Heavy Equipment Sales Representative

The Heavy Equipment Sales Representative, under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for facilitating all aspects of Heavy Equipment Sales and Rentals to potential and/or existing customers.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes Company technical data, sales and promotional resources to generate leads and achieve sales targets
  • Qualify new business prospects and build an active, high potential prospect list which will remain the property of the company at all times
  • Develop ongoing, profitable relationships with customers and continually maintain the professional image of the company
  • Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge
  • Photograph, detail and note all history, specs etc. of equipment
  • Provide customers with in-depth information regarding equipment for sale
  • Prepare sales presentations, contracts and proposals
  • Oversee the scheduling of customer visits
  • Ensure Equipment is presentable and in a good state of repair
  • Emphasize product features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports
  • Provide product demonstration and delivery
  • Solicit and forward Offers to Purchase (Sales Agreements) to the C.O.O. for approval and acceptance
  • Maintain accurate records, including sales reports, inventory, billing invoices, and other documentation


  • Position requires knowledge within the heavy construction/mining industry and a strong sales and mechanical aptitude is required with preference given to 5 - 10 years’ experience
  • Advance understanding and interpreting of inspection and equipment utilization reports
  • Heavy Duty Mechanic experience is considered an asset
  • Results oriented with strong negotiation skills
  • Strong knowledge of sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • High level of integrity and work ethic and to be able to thrive in target driven environment
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to demonstrate proficiency in software applications with working knowledge of the MS Office suite with an emphasis in Excel
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with outstanding interpersonal aptitude
  • Capable of travel 25% - 50% of the time if required
  • Clean 3-year drivers abstract and maintain a clean driving record
